Letter from the President

It is with great pleasure that I can come to you today as a member of the TPAA team. We’re excited about the relaunch and have been working very hard to bring the type of program that will surely benefit most of the nation’s TPAs. Currently, there is a great amount of consolidation taking place, especially in our business. Even the “Blues” are no longer restricted to their respective territories, as they find out there are advantages in grouping together.

Now the TPAs of this great country have that same opportunity. The TPAA was formed to bring economies of scale to a largely independent group of businesses. I’ve been working in the self-insured marketplace for about 20 years now, selling and managing leading edge Rx benefit programs that helped counter the increasing utilization rates that are occurring in all facets of the healthcare continuum. We know that these programs work! Now we’re combining medical, prescription and test data, allowing us to forecast where we need allocate resources and who should be targeted for wellness programs. Disease management programs are also flooding the market right now. Why? Because they work! Today, providers that have the tools to help control these costs are in a great position to seek and gain new business. This is the exact reason we at the TPAA want to promote our membership to the SI market.

We’re getting ready to launch a huge broker initiative, targeting the vast market of self-insured, broker-kept accounts. The TPAA will be making referrals to all our Alliance members, and we’d like to have you aboard!

I suggest you take a look at what’s going on at the TPAA and “get in on the action”.

Sincerely,

Mark Oelschlager, President
The Third Party Administrator Alliance
